If you don't know what the series is (if you owned a GBA, you most likely do), then you might just want to skip this topic. Anyway, the Golden Sun games (Golden Sun, and Golden Sun :The Lost Age) are two RPGs released on the GBA, and are often hailed as some of (if not the) best original RPGs on the system.
I am a big fan of them both, andI have been looking into the history of the Golden Sun series for awhile now, looking into the devolpment and whatnot of the games. Anyway, the second game was a direct sequel of the first, as anyone who has played them will know. But. the creators of the games originally wanted to make the series into one huge, full fledged game. But due to limitations of the GBA, the game had to be "cut in half". and that is how we have come to know the games.
Now, I am not a hacker, and I honestly don't know the first thing about such things, but the thought popped into my head one day...
"Would it be possible to actually hack and bring to two games together as one, as was the original vision of the games"?
Now of course, if this was ever to be done, it would have to be done on a ROM, obviously. But what I mean by bringing the two games together is having a ROM where, when you beat the first game, you go straight into the second one....no credits, no passwords or transfering of data, no "to be continued" or anything like that. Just one long, continuous game, as it was originally meant.
Anyway, if you get what I'm saying, would this actually be possible? I know we would lose some content, like the first games credits and all the rip-raoring fun of entering the Gold Password (oh noes...D=), etc etc, but I think it would be great to actually play Golden Sun, non-stop, no hassles...
Of course, I'm not asking for this to be done. I'm just wondering if such a thing is possible
