I agree with DB's views. You can chalk that up to stereotypes. Sure, challenge doesn't HAVE to be synonymous with frustration and savestate abuse, but unfortunately, 90% of past hacks making use of the challenge moniker have been just that. Their creators apparently do have a difficulty with the definition of challenge. I must admit I have the association in my head of 'challenge=not fun' as a result.

So, I look forward to seeing you break the stereotype and set the world straight again. I'm still waiting for a full, fun Zelda 3 hack. Smiley

Yeah, we need some good Zelda hacks, we've got our hackers for Mario, now we need someone to apply their knowledge to Zelda in the same fashion. I'm more of a Zelda fan than I am a Mario fan anyway. =D

yeah, often times I think in games anyways you want to feel rewarded, so like when someone makes something difficult, then you want something really cool to happen, or get an item that makes the game easier on you.

Also with difficult puzzles, they need to always make sense, I have even felt a few puzzles in some REAL zelda games didn't make complete sense. Sure everyone might not get it the first time but more than anything I think players hate getting stuck (at least for me) whether it be a closed door or an impossible enemy or pit.

so yeah, in conclussion, don't make something impossible that gets the player stuck, and don't make something really long and tedious that just goes on and on. And overall, always reward the player in preportion to the challenge. The greater the challenge, the greater the reward.

I mean it's not always like that but it's a good idea. It wouldn't hurt to see a new item or tool either if that's even possible for you.

Video of Odin's animation and attack in a FF4 hack I haven't worked on in a few months. I'll get back to it one of these days.

Still not complete subs from ToP's prologue. The first part of the movie should be blacked out with subtitles, but I haven't coded that effect yet.

Prologue redone and changed the dialogues "a little" in order to match better the original meaning and style. This is what you will see in the final patch.

I have to rebuild each room with the new tile set. That's why you can see some glitches up tiles at the top. (Have not done it yet)
Other then that enjoy!

Replace it? HDD's are cheap as chips, at the moment.

I hope you have a script editor/checker, 'cause there's some funky english in that video. Other than that, good work. I can't wait for more games I only play for the story and cameos to be done!
