My brother is a lazy <expletive deleted> who is too "shy" to join this forum asks

I am working on a hack of Kirby's Adventure for the NES, but I have found myself with two issues. And reading the documents didn't quite work for me, so here I go. Question one is, how do I make it so that all monsters give specific powers? In the game, I'd like to make Kirby a western, and I want to make most of the enemies give a modified version of LASER, which is simply a revolver. The others would give Sword (knife) and hammer (Tomahawk). Where can I change these values to make which monsters I want give what powers? And is there any way to nullify the rand-o-power?

Question two. How would I go about editing the maps for all the worlds and each level?

You should've linked him to the Getting Started. It basically sounds like a simpler hack, though it being Kirby's Adventure I should hold my tongue. That's the game with the 8 different methods of decompressing levels. Lips sealed

I don't know about compressing levels, but I do know that the tiles are all over the place (when you open Tile Layer Pro) and there's basically a different Kirby tile for around 200 blocks. *exaggeration, but close enough*

I know... I was going to insert Kirby into The Legend of Zelda... Ended up not doing it... Not only was it a pain to find decent Kirby sprites for a top-down adventure but on top of that, NESPal hated me. Sad

...On that topic, if you still want to do that, I could make the sprites for you. Gimme poses and whatever you need, how you want him to hold the sword or whatever, and I'll do it for you.
