Exactly, your roms need to be .BIN format.
You'll find a SMD/BIN converter in the Utilities section.

Your rom is in .SMD (interleaved) format, the data can only be found in a .BIN rom.
Anyway Shining In The Darkness nor Sword Of Vermillion does'nt use this kind of compression.

I've already converted them to BIN format, that pic is for reference of the problem I'm having--the files ARE in bin format they just have the smd file extension.  Do you know what compression they use?  I mean that is the point of my thread really, and if you know I would like that information please.
