I got the modified version of PCSX from the database, and pluggins, but I'm confused on how to run games. I use Run CD through BIOS to load the game (Black Matrix 00), and I can watch a cool opening movie, but once I get to the start screen it doesn't look like I can do anything. Is this just an error with the ISO/emulation? Or am I just stupid? Roll Eyes

Not that I know what the hell I'm talking about, but have you mapped the controls to your keyboard/joystick?

I'm using one of those RadioShack PSX-to-USB adaptors (using the standard PS2 controller). ePSXe doesn't seem to read the controller unless I turn analog mode on, even if the game doesn't use it (I haven't tried FFO with the adapter yet, though. At least FF1 only works with analog mode off. Tongue )

I've got the Radio Shack one and don't have any control issues whether the analog function on the controller is active or not, although, I'm using a PS1 controller and not a PS2 one... I don't know if that may be the difference.

I do know that, if the game itself didn't support the analog mode on the real console (Tomb Raider 1 and Final Fantasy VII come to mind right offhand), you'll have to hit F5 in ePSXe to switch between digital-only and digital+analog modes (kind of like the 3/6 button controller switch in most Genesis emulators).

I generally leave the controller itself in analog mode all the time, and use the ePSXe switch for the games that won't work with the analog mode.
