If so, I hope someone tells me where I can find a patch for an FF1 rom (don't worry, I have the game and all) that fixes all the game's bugs and doesn't change anything else. And also what the problem is that makes my computer say things like "could not find..." when I try to download patches and "application not found..." when I try to download/use FFHackster.

For ROM patches, check our archives on the left side of the screen. For wonky programs, what are you doing and what errors are you getting?

I think this is the hack you want. By the way, I'll get some screenshots up for that later, I could've sworn it was already in the database.

It's not only ok to ask; the answer is supposed to be "here!"  If you know any patches that aren't in the database, submit them.

Thanks yall. As for the errors, I have very little computer knowledge and the nature of them hasn't even been consistent, but my friend recently came over and downloaded a lot of stuff that he said would fix it. If it still doesn't work, I'll pay attention to what happens then come post it.

Okay. I'm trying to download from slick.panicus.org, by the way. When I try to download FFHackster.rar, a downloading dialog box pops up like normal, but the bar doesn't fill and it says nothing about the transfer rate, estimated time left, or where it's being downloaded to. Then after a while a box pops up with a red circle with a white X in the middle, telling me that internet explorer could not download it, wasn't able to open the site because it didn't exist or couldn't be found. Maybe I need to find a different site to get it from. When I try to download (from the same site--there are 2 FFHackster download links) FFHackster_src.tar.gz, a dialog box that I can't make out starts doing this wierd thing where it pops up for about .15 seconds and goes away, and it does it every few seconds for a while, sometimes until I get offline or turn off my computer.

Slick's host (panicus) seems to have issues with Internet Explorer.  Whether or not this is intentional on the part of the host, I don't know.  Personally, I find it very annoying.

As for the patches... well I'm certainly not going to move all of them to geocities.  I'll try and find out what the hell is going on with panicus (if anything) and whether or not this can be fixed.

You're not the first person to have this problem though -- so I seriously doubt it's on your end.  The only thing you could try that might fix it  would be to pick up Opera or Firefox and use them instead of IE.

bah -- well apparently it works fine for me with IE.  Who knows!
